Cents of Responsibility (COR) is more than a website or a course. It's a mission with a methodology. 

Most parents would agree they want their children to "understand the value of a dollar". We think that mission is far too narrow. 

With COR, parents are transforming the allowance ritual into a foundational platform they can easily use to grow their children into money savvy, financially literate adults. From there, the lessons and opportunities expand.

However, we understand these topics are challenging for most parents. That's why the COR methodology focuses on giving parents the tools they need with how-to instruction, and then surrounding them with community to help foster their ability to stay on track.  

There are a ton of books, websites and resources that try to teach kids about money. We created Cents of Responsibility because everything we found told parents and teachers what to do. But we couldn't find anything that focused on the right amount of HOW to teach children.

Finance can be a difficult topic for many to understand, much less explain. We felt parents needed step-by-step guidance, not just a list of items to talk about!

The Cents of Responsibility (COR) methodology is tried, tested, and loved by families just like yours and ours. 

 Informally, the COR methodology has been in use since 2015. Formally, the courses have been in a live format since 2018. New aspects for 2022 include the online course delivery system and the online community.

Absolutely not! The vast majority of parents feel the same way. 

The truth is, you do know about finance. You spend, save, and use credit on a regular basis. And maybe you invest and give to charity as well.

Most parents just don't have a roadmap for relating their financial experience to a child in a way that child can understand, appreciate, and even enjoy. 

Cents of Responsibility gives you that roadmap, complete with turn-by-turn directions.

A Cents of Responsibility app is certainly on the to-do list, but it will be a while.

However, the website, and all of the courses are designed with a mobile browser in mind. So, whether you're looking to log in with Safari on your iPhone, or Chrome on you Samsung, you shouldn't have any issues taking Cents of Responsibility with you on the go. 

Currently, there is one course available for purchase, and one in production. There are several more to come. 

Our initial flagship course is designed to set parents and their elementary-aged children on the path to becoming money savvy, financially literate adults. It is divided into two core modules, and sets the foundation for a newly designed allowance ritual that includes saving, investing and charity, before diving into specific instructions on how to expand that ritual into regular conversations to teach about spending, income and credit.

The second course, currently in production, builds on the first, and also has two modules. The first is how to build a foundation of understanding real-world business through the lens of a lemonade stand. That foundation is then used for the second module, which helps parents teach their children about investing. 

Courses for parents of middle schoolers are in the works as well. 

All of the courses are designed for you, the parent. Why? Because we believe you are the single best person to teach your children about money ... no matter what your level of financial education. 

Schools aren't doing it properly, and research shows kids aren't learning on their own. 

You're already teaching them so much about life. These courses are designed to give you, the parent, tools to add financial literacy to that list.

While the first two courses are designed for parents of elementary-aged children, they're incredibly useful for families with children a few years younger, or a few years older. 

There are plenty of parents with middle schoolers who use the Cents of Responsibility methods with great success ... you just have to be willing to make some adjustments along the way.

Forever! We love this format because you can digest the content at your own pace, and revisit it as needed. 

We get that most parents are intimidated by a great many financial topics. We want you to be able to access the courses as a reference point whenever you need a refresher.

Please know, however, that sharing your account with other families will result in losing access to your account. 

Each course has a few hours of content, but all are broken down into individual lessons that are 2-8 minutes long. 

We're busy parents too, so we've designed the courses in a way to keep them digestible. 

The courses consist of short, useful streaming videos ranging from 2-8 minutes each, and include helpful PDFs that are both downloadable and printable. 

In addition, our flagship starter course for parents of elementary-aged kids comes with a Cents of Responsibility starter kit to kick off your child's journey to becoming a money savvy, financially literate adult.

Because educating children about money is such a foreign concept for so many parents, a place for those parents to share new experiences is a vital part of an effective learning environment. To foster that sort of environment, we cultivate an online community for parents to further all that they learn from our streaming lessons.

That community is divided into two areas ... private and public.

The private Cents of Responsibility (COR) membership community is a closed space open to current enrollees and alumni of COR courses. It's a moderated space in which we foster engagement so parents feel encouraged to ask questions, find answers, and share experiences. In addition, community members have access to additional coaching in a structured environment. 

The Cents of Responsibility public community is cultivated through via social media. COR's presence on Instagram and Facebook are just the beginning phases of the public extension of our mission to help parents raise their children into money savvy, financially literate adults.

The private Cents of Responsibility (COR) membership community is open to current enrollees and alumni of COR courses for a cost of $9 per month. However each COR course comes with 90 days of unlimited included access. To join as a member, we invite you to sign up for a course today.

Our community allowance day (a.k.a. Community COR Day) is the first Sunday of each month. This 5-day Kickoff starts five days before, and culminates with your brand new allowance routine on the first Sunday of this coming month.

The first Sunday of this coming month is our community allowance day (a.k.a. Community COR Day).

Starting five mornings prior, each participant receives a link to a video containing a task, along with support material for the day. Each task is a building block on the next, culminating in a full, productive allowance routine on Sunday.

Please note the Kickoff costs $5 to participate. Why $5? Because there's a ton of research out there that says if you have financial skin in the game, you're more likely to fully commit ... even if the financial commitment is small. And we really want parents to succeed!
